Dharanidhar Nayak

Born in 1955 in the serene village of Badagara in Rajkanika, Kendrapada, Mr. Dharanidhar Nayak’s journey in law began with humble roots at Kanika Public School. After completing his early education, he pursued his higher studies at Bhadrak College, followed by a distinguished graduation in Political Science in Bhadrak College and finally pursued and completed his LLB from the prestigious Madhusudan College, Cuttack.
In 1978, Mr Nayak embarked on his legal career under the mentorship of Shri Prafulla Kumar Dhal, where he honed his skills for over a decade. His independent practice commenced in late 1991, where his dedication to law soon became apparent across all 30 districts of Odisha. His expertise, particularly in Criminal Law, established him as a luminary in the field.
Elected as the 25th member of the Bar Council of Orissa in 1989, Mr. Nayak’s influence in the legal fraternity only grew. By 1992, he had founded his chambers, and within three decades, his name became synonymous with legal excellence. His rise continued as he became the youngest Chairman of the Orissa State Bar Council in 2002, where he served for five years, initiating significant reforms for young advocates.
Designated as a Senior Advocate in 2013, Mr Nayak has led his firm with unparalleled ease, mentoring over 50 associates who have thrived under his guidance. His recent election as the President of the Odisha High Court Bar Association in 2023 marks another milestone in his illustrious career. With over four decades of legal practice, Mr Nayak stands as a stalwart in the courts of Odisha, embodying permanence and prestige in the legal community.
